Bolasta
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
A turn based tactics game about one choice you cannot take back.
You have a basic attack and two skills. Shockwave clears a crowd. Pierce breaks a single hard target. The first arena teaches you to reach for the right one without thinking about it.
Then something in the corridor opens its mouth, and it will not let you past until you feed it one of them.
Whichever you give up, its icon stays on your bar for the rest of the run, greyed out. It does not come back. What you kept is still enough to win with, just slower and more expensive. And the thing in the corridor does not forget what it ate.
No randomness anywhere: fixed damage, guaranteed hits, no crits, enemies that always do exactly what they telegraph. Nothing that goes wrong is luck.
No text either. The corridor asks its question with a mouth, two icons, and what happens next.
Controls
Mouse only. Click to move, click a skill then click its target, and click the arrows to end your turn.
About
Made solo in Unity 6 (URP) for USC CTIN 389: design, systems, gameplay code, level layout and UI. Every unit is an untextured primitive, and the portraits and skill icons were rendered offline from that same geometry.
